How To Restore Heritage Navigator for i

Heritage Navigator for i may still be required to access some features that IBM has not migrated to the new Navigator for i such as BRMS and Advance Job Scheduler. It may be removed/disabled automatically when the HTTP Group PTFs released in March 2023 are applied. 
Note: Heritage Navigator for i is not available in 7.5 and later releases

Error message when accessing Heritage Navigator for i URL:

Not Found
The application or context root for this request has not been found: /ibm/console/logon.jsp

Restore/re-enable Heritage Navigator for i

1. End the ADMIN2 server

ENDTCPSVR SERVER(*IAS) INSTANCE(ADMIN2)

2. SSH to the IBM i server

3. Navigate to /qibm/userdata/os/ADMININST/admin2/wlp/usr/servers/admin2

4. Create backups of the following files (Optional)

• • server.xml
  • vm.options
  • bootstrap.properties

5. Add heritage IBM Navigator for i configurations within the ADMIN2 folder.

• Open server.xml in a text editor and add the following line:

  <include location="/QIBM/ProdData/OS400/Navigator/appdata/server.xml"/>

• Open jvm.options in a text editor and add the following line:

  -Dos400.property.file=/QIBM/ProdData/OS400/Navigator/appdata/navigator.jvm.options

• Open bootstrap.properties in a text editor and add the following line:

  bootstrap.include=/QIBM/ProdData/OS400/Navigator/appdata/bootstrap.properties

6. Start the ADMIN2 server

STRTCPSVR SERVER(*IAS) INSTANCE(ADMIN2)
